South-East Bloc Staff & Administrator’s Retreat 2024 – Christ & The Church

The South-East Blocs Staff and Administrator’s Retreat took place in the beautiful City of Owerri. The 3-Day Retreat started on the 6th January and ended on the 9th of January 2024.

The retreat had in attendance the church leaders and administrator from the six (6) churches of the South-East bloc, which include Port-Harcourt, Bayelsa, Calabar, Uyo, Aba and Owerri.

On Saturday 6th of January (Day 1), all contingents arrived at the Great Western Hotel Owerri which was the venue for the retreat. In the evening, the Lead Evangelist of the bloc, Kemi Olufowobi engaged the leaders in a meeting. He welcomed and appreciated us for the hard work in 2023 and prepared our heart for the retreat. The administrators also had a round table meeting with the, James Orimafo.

On Sunday 7th January (Day 2), we had a great service with the Owerri church and Kemi encouraged the church from the book of Exodus. He channeled our mind toward obedience and surrendering ourselves to God’s Will and purpose for our lives.

After the service, we all went back to the hotel where we had our first class. The title of the class was CHRIST AND THE CHURCH, which brought to light the purpose of the church where Christ is the head and also the relationship between Christ and the church. The class also revealed that the church is a transformative tool of Christ for the present world.

The second class was led by Dipo Ajayi and the title was JESUS THE TEAM BUILDER. He encouraged us to emulate the strategic team building style of Christ where potentials and purpose is fully utilized. He also charged us to build a team the way Jesus did. We ended the day by praying in different groups.

On the 8th of January (Day 3). In the morning session, Collins Ibeh took a class title LEADING LIKE CHRIST. He encouraged us to embrace servant leadership style of Jesus and continue to lead with empathy and humility just like Jesus did.

In the afternoon session, we had a class title RAISING GODLY FOLLOWERS and it was delivered by Gbenga Atolagbe, who challenged us never to conform to the pattern of the world, rather we should strive to raise godly followership just like Jesus did. It was a great class that brough godly reflection and perspective in our hearts and we ended the class by praying in different groups.

Later in the evening, we had a hangout where we ate and fellowshipped together.

We all left the hotel to our various churches on Tuesday 9th of January, 2024

Please continue to put us in your prayers as we look forward to a successful year in Christ Jesus.

Thank You.
