Christmas Joy for the Uwadis’

…As teenage son gets baptised

It gives us so much joy and happiness announcing the baptism into the body of Christ of our first son, Ekene Nesty Afam Uwadi.

This glorious occasion occurred on Sunday 16^th December, 2012 at the Ojo/Apapa region’s End of year Christmas party/Carols by Candle-light at the New Gamezone Garden worship center in FESTAC Town.

Ekene, who actually started studying the bible shortly after the Teens camp in July this year, told his mother and I years back of his strong desire of becoming a disciple of Christ when he attains the age of 15. We really didn’t take him seriously then but continued to encourage and pray for him and his brothers. Shortly after the teens camp, he approached us and expressed his interest to studying the bible. He also approached Tunji Ereola, who assists in mentoring the teens in the region, to express his readiness to study God’s words.

Thank God for the encouragement he also received from disciples in the region, his bible studies brought about an incredible transformation in his life especially his character at home and school. In fact, it was obviously stated in his First term school report as the ‘most obedient student in his class’. He never struggled with the challenges giving to him while studying the bible but carried out all the tests giving to him. Teenagers in the region were so excited to witness Ekene’s baptism into the body of Christ and as a result some of them willingly confessed their desire to start studying the bible.

And to God’s eternal glory, Ekene was baptized into the body of Christ at the age of 15!

Christmas came early for us in my family and also in the region as our joy knows no bound and we are encouraged knowing God wants to turn the heart of our children back to him.
