What a Conversion Story!

”Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers”. 1 Tim. 4:16

My beloved brethren,

Happy New Year and Compliments of the Season.

Some months back, precisely July 1st, 2010, we moved into our own home in a new neighborhood in Ogba-Agege Region of our Church in Lagos, Nigeria.

While we were transiting, the truck conveying our properties hit the fence of a wall as it was trying to negotiate a bend a few blocks to our house. The fence got damaged but no onlooker except the driver and other occupants of the truck (brothers from our former Region Shomolu/Mushin) noticed the incident.

On getting home, I went back with the truck driver to report the incident to the owner of the house whose fence was damaged with a view to ascertaining the cost of fixing the fence.

He was greatly impressed by this act and asked us not to bother, that he would get it fixed. We later found out that the wall was of a school owned by him! And as time went on, we became friends and neighbours while we seized the opportunity to reach out to him and his wife.

Today the 8th of January 2012, barely after one and a half year, I, on behalf of my wife, family, our Regional Leader and his wife (Evangelist & Mrs Kemi Olufowobi – who jumped-started the study) and the entire Ogba-Agege saints, am pleased to inform you that Dr and Mrs Ojo got baptized to the glory of God.

The essence of my Testimony is that in the course of studying the Bible with them, the husband (Dr Ojo) said he was attracted to us by that singular act of coming over to him to report the damage to his fence as it is uncommon in the world that we all live in, particularly, when the owner didn’t even know what happened.

My brothers and sisters, I’m not sharing this to claim righteousness, but to thank the Churches of Disciples Worldwide, for training us in this act and to remind all of us of 1Timothy 4:16  as we all aspire to continue to live the LIFE.

God bless you all.
