SE/SS Marrieds Retreat – Compelled to Love

Report of the South South/ South East Married Retreat 2023 held at Gordon Resort, Abraka, Delta state.

This year’s retreat was great and inspiring as we had 22 couples from across our churches in both blocs gathered at Abraka, Delta State for a 3 day impacting retreat with the theme: Compelled by Love.

We also had a guest speaker from the church in Greater Houston, Texas as our brother, Doug Wens took us on a journey on love connections.

All the activities were geared to meet the needs of the marrieds in the blocs as we all departed to our various churches with so much excitement and assurance of a better relationship with our spouses.

All our speakers were incredible! Doug Wens, Deji and Bunmi Adetula, James and Mary Orimafo, Gloria Osung. It was truly a time of learning, bonding and sharing as couples were encouraged to take their marriages to a greater peak and aspire for growth as God has designed.

Our early morning couple prayer walk was spiritually uplifting and the equilibrium was fantastic as well. Each spouse was giving a list of challenges to carry out while on the retreat without the other spouse’s knowledge and this brought out better understanding of our spouses needs.

All the couples testified to how much these three days have impacted their marriages.

This is the 4th edition of our married retreat and we hope to continue this so that many marriages will continue to blossom to the glory of God.
