Amazing Romance – The South East Bloc Married Retreat

The South East Bloc of the International Church of Christ Nigeria held her Marrieds retreat on the 3rd-4th May, 2019 in the garden city of Port Harcourt.

Marrieds from Uyo, Calabar, Owerri , Yenagoa and Port Harcourt gathered for a 2 day retreat titled ‘Amazing Romance’.

About 40 couples gathered for this 2 days of fun, bonding and learning. The Marrieds Coordinators for the bloc, Gbenga Atolagbe and his beautiful wife, Gina kicked off the retreat in Friday evening with a welcome address and introduction. It was a beautiful movie night as couples watched “Not Easily Broken” that is with God as the centre of our relationship, it will not be easily broken.

The following day was packed full of activities; we had lots of couple games and competitions. Kemi and Nneka Olufowobi, the SE Bloc’s leaders, did a great job as they taught a practical class on the retreat’s theme, ‘Amazing Romance’.

They shared exemplary experiences from their lives and taught the importance of romance in marriage. Nneka’s class to the women encouraged the women to focus on the little things they can do to get their husbands’ attention.

The first session ended by 2:30pm.

We came back in the evening for the dinner party. Every couple was well dressed and the party was fun, exciting and colorful. The marrieds in the SE Bloc will not easily forget this event.

This will be an annual event, where we can bond and create healthy marriage relationships.

We are heading to Calabar come 2020. We believe that with a healthy marriage we will have a healthy church to the glory of God!
