The church in Sierra Leone witnessed the ordination ceremony of Evangelist Dwight S. Koroma on Sunday 8th May 2016. The ceremony was conducted by Evangelist John F. Cawray from Lagos, Nigeria.

Baptized in June 1997, Evangelist Koroma has been in full time ministry since 2002. He is married to Mrs. Fatu Koroma and the Lord has blessed them with two girls and a boy. He led the church in Sierra Leone from 2002 to 2005. Evangelist Cawray and wife took over in 2005. In 2010, Evangelist Cawray and wife left to lead the Ogba-Agege region in Lagos, Nigeria. Since then, Evangelist Dwight S. Koroma has been leading the church in Sierra Leone with his wife.

Evangelist Cawray described Evangelist Dwight Koroma as a friend and brother in the Lord. He expressed delight at the work Evangelist Koroma has done in the Freetown Church since he left Sierra Leone in 2010 for Lagos.

Evangelist Cawray said he is humbled to ordain his friend and brother as an evangelist in the same hall he was ordained some years back, making Evangelist Dwight S. Koroma the second evangelist coming from Sierra Leone.

Since 2010 to date, God has used Evangelist Dwight S. Koroma to plant churches in Mile 91 and Makeni in the North of Sierra Leone. He also helps Evangelist Fred George oversee the Church in Guinea, Conakry. Many disciples in the Church in Sierra Leone see him as a father and mentor.

The ordination ceremony was witnessed by disciples from all the churches in Sierra Leone and also from Guinea, Conakry.

The sermon of the day was delivered by Evangelist John F. Cawray. He spoke on “The Revelation of Jesus Christ; The Throne the Lamb and six Seals”, specifically focusing on Revelations chapter’s 4, 5, 6 & 7.

Evangelist Koroma in his vote of thanks expressed appreciation to his family, the church and his friends for coming to support him. He said he is very grateful to his family and the church for the support they have given him over the years. He however stressed that a lot of times leaders are isolated and people forget that they as leaders have struggles and challenges; but he’s had those disciples in the church who have been encouraging him with words, and to him, that has kept him going. He thanked Evangelist Cawray for coming over to Freetown to preside over his ordination. He concluded by asking the church to continue to give him the support they have been giving him as he has been giving an additional responsibility.
