Benin Church Marks ‘Campus Week’

2 Peter 1:5-8 New International Version (NIV)

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self- control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Benin Church Campus Ministry recently concluded a week-long activity filled ‘Campus Week’ with the theme, ‘The Plus Factor’ in Benin, Edo State.

This event took place from 9th – 15th March 2015.

All activities were centered around the University of Benin (UNIBEN) campus and disciples from various campus ministries in Nigeria came around to add some flavor and energy to the week. Lagos, Port harcourt, Ilorin,  Owerri and Ekpoma campus ministries were well represented.

The theme of the campus week was ‘THE PLUS FACTOR’, and we were able to identify that additional factor that sets us apart as disciples which is God. Also, factors that we need to add in terms of character, attitude and actions to make us better as disciples.

The theme scripture was 1Peter1:5-8. At the end of the week, we felt re-energized and willing to improve on ourselves and even to do our best for God in our various campuses. Our friends and visitors were really excited and willing to study the bible.

We definitely need prayers even as we ‘build’ both our lives and God’s church.
