Prayer Request for Liberian Governing Authorities
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior… First Timothy 2:1-3
Edmund Goly and his wife Mirelli have led the church in Liberia for about 4 years. They have reported that the Monrovia Christian Church would greatly appreciate the prayers of their brothers and sisters for the upcoming Liberian elections. After 14 years of destructive civil war, Liberia has had 6 years of peaceful rebuilding. Now the upcoming presidential election on October 11th will be a significant factor on the future. The church has sponsored a fast. and prayer chain for the month of September.
It will continue until the 9th of October. On October 9th, they are holding a prayer service to put everything in the hands of God. They ask for prayers so the country can enjoy a peaceful electoral process. They pray that there will be no violence and that the election decision is accepted for the sake of the people of the country.
They are very grateful for the additional prayers. Situations such as the nearby presidential elections in near by Abidjan have been on their minds.
