Women: ICOC Lagos North Bloc Celebrates 2025 IWD

March 8th 2025 was an exciting day for the women of the North Bloc as they celebrated the 2025 ‘International Women’s Day, with the theme ‘One Voice, One Purpose ‘ – inspired by Romans 15:6.

To make the day a memorable and health beneficial day for the participants, the leadership team of the North Bloc, which comprises of the Ogba/Agege, Abule-Egba/Ota, and Egbeda Regions, invited eighteen medical personnel from notable government hospitals in Lagos to create an health awareness program geared towards meeting the health needs of the women in the bloc. Health checks were carried out, as well as screenings for breast and cervical cancer. Perimenopause screening was also carried out.

The occasion was graced by one hundred and seventy-eight excited women. Mrs. Martina Ajao – the Bloc’s Woman Leader – in her welcome speech called the women to exhibit courage and not give in to fear as they undergo the screening process. Her words of encouragement, which are centered on God’s promises and the peace that comes from trust in God, calmed the hearts of the women and lightened up the atmosphere.

The exercises went well – thank God – and the event was a huge success.
