Warri: Songs of Praise Service in Warri
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Psalm 95:1-2 (NIV)
It was an incredible time of worship and praise at the ICOC Warri on Sunday 9th December 2018.
As is custom, the church had her 2nd and final Special Worship Service in 2018, tagged “Songs of Praise”. This event witnessed worshippers truly letting go of themselves and giving all thanks and glory to our God and king.
In a Communion message led by the Warri church leader, Olaolu Karunwi, he reminded the church that declaring the praises of God should not be done only when life is good. Citing Job as an example, he lost everything and yet his reaction to the situation was to worship God.
He further emphasized that God expects his people to worship him in spirit and in truth. Worshipping God must be done according to his own demands. Our attitude in worship should always be that we are hopelessly in love with Jesus and that we wouldn’t trade that affection for anything else.
The choir led the church in beautiful praises. The church was edified and God’s name was indeed glorified.
