South/East Bloc Celebrates Singles Week

The South-East Bloc of the International Churches of Christ, Nigeria recently celebrated Singles in their bloc in Owerri, Imo State, with the theme “Tamed but Free” from 14 – 16th May, 2021.

A total number of 52 singles from the 6 churches in the bloc comprised of Port Harcourt, Calabar, Yenagoa, Uyo, Owerri including Aba, a Seed Fellowship in the bloc, were present in what promised to be 2 days of bonding and fellowship in Owerri.

The Owerri church leader, Tochukwu Nwaribe welcomed the delegates and the presence of the Women Ministry Leader of the bloc, Nneka Olufowobi and Coordinators of the Single’s Ministry South-East Bloc, Curtis and Doris Jemigbeyi were acknowledged as the came to teach and encourage the singles.

The activities commenced proper the next day with an opening prayer by Curtis Jemigbeyi and a devotional anchored by Ogbemudia Igbinoba. The first class on Singles and Finances was taught by Uyime Ajufo of the Asaba Church and it was really impacting which led to the class on Kingdom Dating Curtis and Doris Jemigbeyi. This session encouraged singles to be kingdom focused in everything they do, including dating.

A group of discussion panel was held and anchored by Chris Ajufo, Curtis and Doris Jemigbeyi and Nneka Olufowobi which tackled issues concerning the singles ministry.

The program continued with empowerment class on Digital Networking by Taiwo and Tope of the Port Harcourt church.

The single’s week came to an end with a Sunday worship service and also the last day for all the singles in the Bloc to bring the impactful single’s week to a climax.

The sermon titled “Tamed but free” which was the theme of the single’s week was delivered by the Bloc single’s coordinator, Curtis Jemigbeyi. It was another time of learning as the speaker made it known to us that we are free like a bird, and that God has called each one of us to be free and happy but not free to be sinful.

The service came to a close by 12:10 pm with a total number of 108 people in attendance.
