Port Harcourt
Port Harcourt Church
Date Planted: 1999
Brief History: Two disciples from Lagos, Deji Adetula and Doyle Edeni ran into each other in Port Harcourt during their National Youth Service scheme in the 1997 service year and started a bible talk. Their initiative was rewarded as the bible talk grew into a seed fellowship. News of this reached Lagos and a mission team of seven disciples traveled to Port Harcourt from Lagos. The mission team members were Doyle Edeni, Deji Adetula, Dennis Ejiofor, Bunmi Adetula, Kemi Fabuluje, Ruth Edeni and Constance Aroge. The fellowship was recognized as a church in 1999. The church has no full-time staff but most disciples worked and served in various capacities in a communal family relationship and as a result the church grew numerically and otherwise in strength and resources. The Port Harcourt church is one of the churches in Nigeria with its church facility.
