ICOCN Annual General Conference 2025

The 35th Annual General Conference of the International Church of Christ Nigeria was held on October 26 2025 with participation from board members, church leaders, staff, and members both in person and online. The meeting commenced with the host, Gabriel Inyamah expressing appreciation for disciples in the Nigeria churches for their dedication and commitment to the church’s growth and development.

Opening Remarks and Welcoming Session

The session began with a warm welcome from the host, emphasizing the importance of decorum and unity during the proceedings. The conference included the presentation of new board members, recognition of retiring members, and the introduction of newly appointed leaders.

Presentation of New Board Members

The new board member was introduced and recognized. Following the exit from the Board last year of the representative from the South/South Bloc, Williams Awotunde, a new representative of the bloc, Kester Ishie, was presented at this meeting.

Administrative and Leadership Reports 

Chairman’s Report:

The Chairman expressed gratitude for the church’s progress, highlighting financial growth, land and property management, partnerships, staff development, and strategic initiatives like the Lagos Church building fund project. Key achievements included increased income, ongoing land development, and plans for infrastructural improvements.

Lead Evangelist’s Report:

The Lead Evangelist reviewed activities in 2024, including membership growth (from 3,016 to 3,216), notable conferences such as the West African Missions Leadership Conference, and the Global Connect forum. He celebrated new appointments, including the Lagos Church Elder, and recognized the contributions of leaders who retired after dedicated service.

Administrator’s Report:

The Administrator reported on financial performance, membership updates, and local government coverage. The church’s income increased by 39%, with expenditures rising by 34%. The report also covered staff development, church growth initiatives, and ongoing land and building projects.

Financial Audit 

The church’s auditors presented the financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2024. They confirmed that the financial reports give a true and fair view of the church’s financial position, complying with international standards. The auditors recommended the reappointment of the current auditors for the upcoming year, which was approved by the assembly.

Recognition and Awards

Long service awards were presented to staff members with 10, 15, and 30 years of dedicated service. Additional awards honored retiring leaders and trustees who had served meritoriously. The congregation applauded the commitment and contributions of these individuals.

Questions and Clarifications

Attendees raised questions on various topics including governance processes, church membership figures, land development delays, and financial allocations. Responses clarified the procedures for board appointment and election, ongoing land projects, and the church’s focus on evangelism and leadership development.

Resolutions and Adjournment

The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, which was seconded and approved. The chairman led a closing prayer, invoking divine guidance for the church’s future endeavors.
