ICOC Lagos Staff Retreat 2025 – Rooted in Christ

From the 10th to the 13th of February, the Staff of the Lagos Church converged at the serene Covenant University Guest House, Ota, for their annual retreat.

The theme of this year’s retreat was “Rooted in Christ.”

For 4 days, the Evangelists, Women’s Ministry Leaders, Interns, Administrative staff, and the church’s Elders and Teachers fellowshipped, prayed, taught, and responded to soul-searching lessons from God’s word.

Jide & Biola Ojo who serve as the Lead Evangelist and Women’s Ministry Leader for the Lagos Church, welcomed everyone warmly.

There was an evaluation of the year gone by as well as the unveiling of the Lagos Church growth plan for the next 3 years, tagged “Vision 2027.”

Praise, worship, and morning devotionals by Emmanuel & Henrietta Emeh and Frank Okodugha began each day.

“Strengthening our roots in Christ” was the title of the opening class taught by Dipo & Cynthia Ajayi. “Rooted in Christ for service” was the class taught to the administrative staff by Femi Okodugha, while Ayo & Busola DaSilva taught the ecclesiastical staff “Rooted in Jesus for growth.” Chris & Rolayo Ogbonnaya also shared a presentation on the CHORD Leadership Center.

But great classes were not the only highlight of the retreat. The team played some thunderous games of volleyball and enjoyed fun relaxation in the swimming pool. There were great times of bonding, unburdening, sharing, and praying together.

All in all, it was a glorious start to the year as we look forward to all that God will do in us and through us.
