Gideon Declares Jesus Christ as Lord!
Acts 2:36-39
36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah. 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do? 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Gideon Okocha who resides at Magodo Estate in Ikeja, Lagos has been studying the bible for the past three (3) weeks at the Alausa Bible Talk of Ikeja Region.
Gideon’s story is a unique one and reflects God’s amazing power to seek and save the lost. While searching for a church to worship one fine Sunday morning, he walked into the Ikeja Church facility. He was instantly pricked in his heart by the sermon that morning and remembered vividly how the preacher said people should see us and recognize us as Christians through our behaviors and deeds, and not by words.
After reaching out to by a brother after the service, he made up his mind to study the Bible. Ever since, Gideon has been devoted to the study of the Bible and to church meetings. Ever willing to learn more about Jesus Christ, Gideon eventually got baptised into the body of Christ on the 22nd of March, 2015.
“I have been a ‘Christian’ all my life, listened to different sermons but here, I am learning something new, different and true. I should not proclaim Christianity by my mouth but I should live a Christian life with my actions and attitude to people and things around me as Jesus Christ will do”, he said.
While praying after his baptism, he thanked everyone who helped him see the biblical truths and families who opened their homes for him.
