2015 WAM Leadership Conference Starts in Warri

The 2015 West Africa Mission Leadership Conference in Warri, Delta State starts today 21 August 2015 as delegates from across the sub-region converge in the oil rich city for what promises to be an incredible life-changing conference themed ‘Build’.

Warri city is one of the major hubs of petroleum activities and businesses in the southern Nigeria. It is a commercial capital city of Delta State, with a population of over 311,970 people according to the national population census figures for 2006. The city is one of cosmopolitan cities in southern Nigeria comprising originally of Itsekiri, Urhobo Isoko and Ijaw people. Warri is predominantly Christian with mixture of African traditional religions like most of the Southern Nigeria. The city is known nationwide for its unique Pidgin English.

The 2015 WAM Conference will kick off officially today with a colorful opening ceremony, complete with rich cultural displays from the host church. Its a double achievement for disciples in the Warri church as apart from hosting the WAM Conference for the first time ever, they will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary Celebrations too.

Most delegates and participants have since arrived the city for the conference which was preceded by a WAM Management Meeting and a General Assembly meeting for Church leaders, Administrator and Elders.
