Some prayers linger for years. Some tears seem unnoticed. Some seeds remain buried for decades.
But God never forgets a seed sown in faith.
Just forty days after faithfully finishing her earthly race and going home to be with the Lord, the lifelong prayer of the late Bukayo Adegboye was answered in a remarkable way.
For more than thirty years, Bukayo lovingly and faithfully shared the gospel with her elder brother, Adedeji (Deji) Adegboye, praying that he would surrender his life to Christ.
One week before her passing, she passionately urged the evangelist not to stop reaching out to him. His salvation remained one of the greatest burdens on her heart. Unknown to anyone—including herself—that would be one of her final requests before going to be with the Lord.
In God’s beautiful providence, Deji was by her side in her final moments. He cared for her with love until she breathed her last and accompanied her body to the morgue. Through it all, he witnessed the unwavering faith, humility, integrity, and steadfast devotion that had marked his sister’s life for decades.
Her life continued to preach even after her death.
Following her funeral, Deji took the initiative to approach the evangelist, expressing his desire to study the Bible. As he reflected on his sister’s consistent example and sacrificial love over the years, he became convinced that it was time to surrender his life to God.
He faithfully studied the Scriptures, attended church gatherings, and sought God with an open heart.
To the glory of God, Adedeji Adegboye confessed Jesus as Lord and was baptized into Christ, becoming a disciple of Jesus.

What a beautiful reminder that the gospel continues to bear fruit long after faithful servants have gone home to be with the Lord.
This testimony is an encouragement to everyone praying for a parent, spouse, sibling, child, relative, or friend. Never underestimate what God is doing behind the scenes.
Sometimes we plant.
Sometimes we water.
But God gives the growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6–7)
Even if we never witness the harvest, God remains faithful to complete the work begun through our obedience.
And the story is still unfolding.
Now a disciple himself, Deji has embraced the same mission his sister carried for so many years. He longs to share the gospel with his father, a king who has already begun exploring the Scriptures, as well as with his wife and other siblings, who have expressed a sincere interest in studying the Bible.

What began with one faithful disciple may, by God’s grace, become the testimony of an entire family.
May this encourage us never to grow weary in doing good, never to stop praying, never to stop loving, and never to stop sharing the gospel.

Our Beloved Sister, Bukayo Adegboye Slept In The Lord in May 2026
The harvest may not come when we expect it.
It may even come after we have gone to be with the Lord.
But God’s promises never fail.
To God alone be all the glory. Amen.
