It was thrilling moments for the over 340 Pre-teens and teenagers, 80 counselors and officials who gathered at this year Youth Camp held at the serene Foursquare Camp, along the Lagos – Ibadan Highway, Ajebo Ogun State.
This year’s camp, which was the Lagos 30th Anniversary edition, was spiced with the rich presence of 7 campers from Liberia and 6 from Ghana.
There was a sad news of kidnapping around the camp venue which almost threw us off balance, but against all odds we took the step of FAITH and God took charge and everything went well.
The theme of this year’s camp is “LIVE” (in Philippians 1:21, Paul declares that’’ for me to live is Christ and to die is gain’’) in line with Lagos 30th Anniversary. In a 7 days of exciting and adventurous experience our campers were taught from the Bible to:
Live for Christ
Live for Excellence
Live in Obedience
Live in Purity
Live with Gratitude.
The campers played different competitive games and winners emerged from the different categories, Challenging games with interesting consequences for losers were player as well and they had lots of fun.
Highlight was the ring of honor where campers’ boys and girls separately appreciated each other for the impact made within the short time in each other’s lives, and the grateful devotional with tears in everyone’s eyes appreciating God for all He is doing in their daily lives.
The campers also had Ultimate search (searching for Thanos’ gauntlet) on Friday afternoon, another challenging game and ended the day with a dinner tagged ‘’JEANKARA NIGHT’’ (A dress of jeans and Ankara combination)
We thank God for his protections throughout our stay at the camp and for the resounding success of the 2019 ICOCN Youth Camp and pray it helps build the spiritual values and integrity of our children even as they continue to LIVE FOR CHRIST!
We look forward to 2020 ICOC Nigeria Youth Camp with eye of hope and greater things that God will do. To Him alone be all the Glory.
