In Loving Memory

John 11:23-26 – Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

2013 ended for us in Lagos in tears and grief as two very hardworking and committed disciples lost their lives in unfortunate and painful circumstances. Today, we fondly remember Jerry Ojeka from the Ogba-Agege Region and Sesan Ogunro, Ikeja-Ketu Region in Lagos.

Jerry Ojeka and Sesan Ogunro will be deeply missed for their devotion to their families and God, the warmth and joy their friendship and love brings to others and for their humility to serve others.

Until his untimely demise, Jerry Ojeka who was baptised in 1995 in Ilorin, Kwara State, worked loyally  for the church as Security Guard and died from injuries sustained after being crushed by a drunk driver on 22nd of December 2013. A devoted father of three, Jerry will be fondly remembered for his hardwork, loyalty and commitment to duty.

Sesan Ogunro, a deeply loved and respected brother died as a result of bullet wounds after he was shot by men of the underworld on Sunday 22nd Dec., 2013 after a fantastic Carols by Candlelight service in Ikeja as he was about living for home in company of his wife, one of his sons and two of his grandchildren in front of the church facility. He was rushed to the hospital by a few disciples, who were still around on this fateful night but gave up the following morning Monday the 23rdof December, 2013.

Continue to remember us in your prayers at this most difficult and shocking time for us and please continue to pray for the widows and children they left behind, pray also for the Ojeka and Ogunro families as they mourn this great loss.
