History Made As Lagos Appoints Three Teachers
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, and some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up….” – Ephesians 4: 11-12
Teachers are essential to helping people grow in their knowledge of the faith and in their walk with GOD. And so for the Lagos church it was an historic occasion on Sunday, August 19 as teachers were appointed. The new teachers are Fred George, Emmanuel Emeh, and Gilbert Kimeng.
These appointments to the role of teacher happens to be the first time ever teachers were appointed on the continent of Africa by our movement of churches.
Meet the Teachers
FRED GEORGE’S PROFILE
Evangelist FREDRICK ROTIMI GEORGE was born on January, 9 1960 to a family of 12 siblings, and the first child.
He attended EBENEZER AFRICAN CHURCH PRIMARY SCHOOL, IBADAN in his elementary years, started his secondary education at BAPTIST BOYS HIGH SCHOOL ABEOKUTA, and completed it at BADAGRY GRAMMAR SCHOOL, BADAGRY.
He proceeded to the UNIVERSITY OF IFE now OAU where he bagged a combined honors degree in Sociology & Philosophy in 1984.
He served and worked with the CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA, and in 1989 he was met by a member of the original mission team from London to Lagos in the person of Any Frost, who studied the bible with him. He was baptized into Christ on 23rd September, 1989.
As a single brother, he served as song leader, teen’s leader, zone leader, administrator and bible talk leader in the old SAVANNAH REGION of the Church. He got married to Titi George in 1993 and shortly afterward himself he and his wife were called to serve in the full-time ministry of the Church, becoming the first couple who got married in the church to come on staff. He served as the leader of the old MIDLAND REGION from 1994-1996, as leader ACCRA Church from 1996-1999, leads OJO/APAPA region from 1999-2005, as leader of SURULERE region from 2005-12.
In pursuit of excellence in biblical knowledge and practical ministry, Fred was awarded a scholarship and obtained a MASTER’S DEGREE IN BIBLE & THEOLOGY from the prestigious LINCOLN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY in 2016, becoming the first African in ICOC worldwide to do so from that institution.
He currently serves as Regional leader for SHOMOLU-MUSHIN REGION, the YOUTH & FAMILY COORDINATOR of Lagos church, the ACADEMIC DIRECTOR, MINISTRY TRAINING ACADEMY OF WEST AFRICAN SCHOOL OF MISSION.
He is also the DIRECTOR & LIASON TO WEST AFRICA OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN SCHOOL OF MINISTRY & THEOLOGY.
He is a trained, and certified facilitator of the “I CHOOSE US” MARRIAGE AND SCHEMA THERAPY PROGRAMS.
He is blessed with two lovely and adorable children, Philip and Phoebe.
EMMANUEL EMEH’S PROFILE
Emmanuel Emeh has over 20 years full-time experience in Preaching, Teaching, Counselling, Public Speaking and Leadership Development.
He has chaired & have been part of several committees, involved in Local & International planning & Execution of Seminars, Conferences & Training workshops

He is actively involved in Leadership & Capacity Building, especially among professionals in Christian Ministries & Business world, Youths in Universities & other institutions of higher learning.

Leadership Academy, he has (with the support his highly dedicated team) hosted 9 editions of the highly acclaimed annual International Campus Leadership Conference in Nigeria. These conferences have in the past 9 years attracted thousands of participants from over 50 Universities & Colleges across Nigeria, Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Egypt, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Liberia, S/Leone, UK, Guinea, Congo DR, Kenya & the USA.
With a background in Visual Art, Emmanuel’s teaching style is enhanced by his animated story telling skills, use of Movie Clips, audio & other visual effects in illuminating his subject matter.
He has a mastery of MS Power Point & other Teaching tools.
As a Certified Coach in Movie Therapy,™ Schema Therapy™ & Solutions Focused Brief Counseling, Emmanuel engages in Pre/Post Marriage counseling, training of prospective counselors, Trauma and Bereavement, Self Awareness & Pre/Post HIV tests counseling
He serves as principal instructor with:

GILBERT KIMENG’S PROFILE
Gilbert Kimeng was born on February 26, 1971, grew up in Cameroon, became a disciple as an undergraduate engineering student in the Technical University in Berlin, Germany in 1992. He joined the full-time ministry in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire in 1994 and served in different ministries (sectors, regions, campus, teens etc); led and planted a church in Cameroon.
After about 13 years in the full time ministry, Gilbert returned to school to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the Irish University Business school and started working in the IT industry in Lagos, Nigeria as a Service & Program Manager.
During the past 8 years, Gilbert has worked with teenagers, singles and now leads the professional ministry in the Islands Region of the Lagos Church while doing a Masters of Arts Degree with the Rocky Mountain School of Ministry.
He’s been married to his beautiful and godly wife Perita Kimeng for over 6 years and is also currently a teacher in training. His passion for learning and sharing God’s Word has taken him on several Bible Study trips to Greece, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland and Israel while also teaching across French and English Speaking Churches in West, Central, South and East Africa.
