About us
A family of churches following Jesus together
The International Church of Christ, Nigeria began in Lagos in 1989. Today we are a family of congregations in 36 states and the FCT.
We are ordinary people from different cities, languages and walks of life who have decided to follow Jesus and to help others do the same.
Our vision
To know God and to make Him known.
Our mission
To have well equipped disciples for works of service and churches in every Local Government Area in Nigeria.
What we are committed to
Our values
Biblical obedience
Living out the Scriptures in every area of our lives, in obedience to the word of God.
Seeking and saving the lost
Our greatest passion is helping people come into a loving relationship with God.
Equipped for service
Training disciples for works of service in the church and in the community.
Growing together
We grow in faith and in service to one another, as one family.
Our history
From twenty disciples in Lagos to churches across the nation
The church in Nigeria began with a small team and a clear purpose. More than three decades later, that purpose has not changed.
1989: Lagos
The Lagos Christian Church was planted by 20 Christians from the London Church of Christ.
Across Nigeria
Churches followed in cities including Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Benin, Jos and Kaduna.
West Africa
Churches were planted in other West African nations, including Accra, Freetown, Banjul and Bissau.
