In 2016, we decided to keep the fight going on and at the end of November, we have had 18 souls added to God’s glory. We are super excited to have been used as vessels to cause 18 celebrations in heaven. In November during the FDC, we had a total of 55 friends who came at least once throughout the week, and four of them who attended all five days got baptized. All the souls added this year have been remarkable stories, but a few really stand out.
Amadi Ome was reached out to and he attended the FDC in March of 2015. After the five days, he attended church with us a couple of times and was barely seen afterwards. We kept in touch with him and continued to pray for him. In April this year he showed up in church one Sunday and attended a few more times. He shared, “I didn’t just go away. I’ve been seeking God and the truth and gone to many different places (Churches) in the process.” Thankfully, we kept the relationship going.
Unfortunately, sometime in July, he was attacked in his home by armed robbers in the middle of the night but thankfully, God kept him and his family safe. God used that incident to remind him of his need for salvation and along with the deep love shown to him by the evangelist Shadrach Obasa and other brothers in the church after the incident, he decided to make Jesus the Lord of his life. He was baptized one month later in August and one month afterwards, his wife Chioma was also baptized into Christ.
Both Amadi and Chioma have become great servants in the church and amazing contributors to the FDC continuous project. We do not have time to talk about Wilson, Solomon, Mitai, Evelyn, Raydesmond and the others and the amazing stories behind their conversions.
Amadi reminds us of the constant need for faith, love and persistence as we continue to seek and save the lost. At the same time, our joy knows no bounds as we witness an increase in our family while continuing to dream of the greater things that God will do amongst us, our mouths continually filled with laughter, and enjoying being in the triumphant procession which God is always leading.
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere – 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV)
