The 2015 West Africa Missions Leadership Conference – Day One
The 2015 West Africa Missions Leadership Conference in Warri, Delta State started with a lot excitement as the Warri church put up an incredible and colorful opening ceremony highlighting the rich cultural traditions of the Delta people.
The hardworking and very hospitable local organizing committees of the 2015 WAM Conference were on ground early to put finishing touches in the well-lighted sparkling Petroleum Trust Institute Hall.
The theme of the Conference is ‘Build’. More than 400 delegates from all across the sub-region gathered for the opening prayer, which was preceded by an opening prayer by an Elder in the Lagos church, Imagbe Igbinoba. Delegates were then treated to the rich history of Warri city, traditional dancers, drama acts and the thrilling theme song titled ‘A Call to Build’ performed by the host church choir.
In his welcome address, the lead evangelist, Chris Ogbonnaya welcomed all delegates to Warri and also commended the Warri church for their hospitable heart and encouraged all delegates to have an open mind even as they continue to build.
These set the tone for the classes of the day which includes,
- Build Prayerfully – Oludolapo Ogundipe
- Laying the Foundation (Split Class)– Jide Ojo, Shadrack Obasa and Charlie Davies while Rolayo Ogbonnaya, Nneka Olufowobi and Titi George taught the women
- Story of the ICOC (Lessons from Our History) – Emmanuel Emeh
- Build the House of God – Imagbe Igbinoba and Olaoluwa Karunwi
All messages and the theme of the conference are inspired by the book of Nehemiah, calling all disciples to be courageous, faithful and Godly leaders.
We thank God so far for his faithfulness and answers to our prayers and for us at ICOC Warri, we are eternally happy and grateful to God for the honour, strength and privilege to host such a huge spiritual event for God’s kingdom and as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary as a movement in Warri.
We look forward for greater things God will do in the next two days at the 2015 WAM Conference.
Please stay tuned for more daily updates on this space.
