2015 ICOC NIGERIA YOUTH CORP – DAY ONE
Finally the 2015 ICOC Nigeria Youth Camp came alive at the New Era Youth Camp (NEYOCA), Ibeju Lekki when over 350 teens and pre teens, accompanied by exceptional volunteers and officials ignited the atmosphere with energy and vibration. BUILDING FOR TOMORROW!
Thanks to Olaolu Karunwi, Niyi Osilaja and their indefatigable team who, for over eight months of sleepless nights, have been strategizing, planning and ready to execute what I could only describe as MISSION EXTRAORDINARY.
The event kicked off with an opening prayer by Ernest Wilson, a preteen from the Port Harcourt Church while the opening remark was made by the lead-evangelist, Chris Ogbonnaya who reminded all campers to focus on BUILDING FOR TOMORROW, make great friends and be assured that ICOC Nigeria will one day be blessed with her own Camping Facility.
The Camp rules followed and one stand-out from this year’s edition is that campers were divided into Platoons – Eagles, represented by the color Green, Bulls (Red), Elephants (Grey), Wolves (Blue) and Tigers (Yellow)
It was amazing to hear the protest of the campers insisting that the very first activity being the preteen’s dancing competition should continue giving us light that it was indeed an exciting way to start off.
Everyone had dinner, bath and we retired to prepare for what promises to be a truly adventurous week at the Camp.
BUT AM EXCITED ALREADY! Which Platoon will overwhelm us tomorrow? The Red BULLS? I am not sure the Green EAGLES will fly low. Hmm the Grey ELEPHANTS are trampling forward but I could see the Blue WOLVES charging towards the Yellow TIGERS.
Well this is our DAY ONE
